Patch, texture match, paint
Drywall Repair and Painting, Corner to Corner
After a patch and texture match, we recommend painting the whole wall, corner to corner, not just the patch — a spot touch-up shows a difference in sheen even when the color is right. That's a separate return visit, once the texture has had time to dry. Paint with your leftover can, or we supply and color-match using Sherwin-Williams. Quotes from photos are free.
Drywall repair and painting prices
- Your leftover paint +$295 / wall
- We color-match (Sherwin-Williams) +$425 / wall
- Each extra wall, same room +$175 / wall
Why we paint the whole wall
A spot touch-up on a fresh patch almost always shows — new paint sits on top of old at a slightly different sheen, even in the exact same color, and the texture edge can catch light differently than the wall around it. Painting corner to corner, the full wall, keeps the color and sheen consistent across the whole surface instead of at a visible edge. That's why painting is priced and sold by the wall, not the patch.
If you'd rather handle the paint yourself, the patch is left ready for a roller — see drywall hole repair and texture matching for how the patch itself is priced.
A separate visit, once the texture dries
Texture needs time to dry before it can be primed and painted, so painting is a second visit, not an add-on to the same trip as the patch. Once the texture is dry, we come back, prime, and paint the full wall. Most repairs without painting finish in one visit; adding paint means two.
Your paint, or ours
Bring us your leftover can from the original paint job and we'll paint with it — the cheaper option, and it keeps the can's color and finish exactly as it was. If you don't have leftover paint, or want a fresh can, we supply and color-match using Sherwin-Williams. Painting an adjoining wall in the same room, same color, while we're there costs less than a standalone wall. See the price list for exact numbers.
What to expect from the paint
We paint carefully and match color as closely as the paint allows. Light, sheen, the paint's age, and the room's existing wear all affect how a freshly painted wall compares to the rest of the room, and none of that is something a repaint fully controls. What we do commit to: a full wall, corner to corner, not a patch-sized touch-up that would show more of that difference, not less.
What to expect on repair day
Mario, the owner, does the work, and your home is protected while it happens.
You don't need to be home
Leave a lockbox code or the door unlocked. You get a text when Mario is on the way, and Mario locks up when the job is done.
Your belongings protected
Before starting, we tape plastic over the floor, nearby walls and anything close to the repair. If a couch is in the way, we move it and cover it.
Cleaned up before we leave
Patching makes some dust. The plastic catches most of it, and we clean up the work area before we go.
Drywall repair and painting questions
Do you paint after every repair?
No — the patch is left ready for a roller by default. Painting is offered as a separate service at its own price; see the price list.
Why paint the whole wall instead of just the patch?
A spot touch-up on a patch almost always shows a difference in sheen or color at the edge, even with the right paint. Painting corner to corner avoids that visible line.
Can you paint during the repair visit?
No. Texture needs time to dry before it can be primed and painted, so painting is a separate return visit.
What if I don't have leftover paint?
We supply and color-match using Sherwin-Williams for an additional cost over using your own leftover can — see the price list for both prices.
How will the new paint compare to the rest of the room?
We match color as closely as the paint allows. Light, sheen and the room's existing wear can all affect how a freshly painted wall compares to the rest of the room.
