Small holes, patched and matched

Drywall Hole Repair, Patched and Texture-Matched

A fist through drywall, a doorknob dent, a dresser corner that caught the wall on moving day: drywall hole repair covers any damage smaller than a sheet of drywall. We patch it and match the texture. Send 2-3 photos and the year your home was built — quotes from photos are free, and most repairs finish in one visit.

What counts as a hole repair

Impact damage, furniture dings, a fist through the wall, a dented corner from moving day — if the damage is smaller than one sheet of drywall (4 ft by 4 ft), it's a hole repair. That covers small dings up to 6 inches, medium damage up to 2 ft by 2 ft, and larger impact holes up to 4 ft by 4 ft, each with its own price on the price list.

A second hole in the same room on the same visit is priced as an add-on, not a second full repair. Looking for a specific cause instead of general impact damage — a plumber's access cutout, an electrician's cutout, or an outlet opening cut too big? See drywall repair after a plumber, drywall repair after an electrician, or outlet and panel cutout repair.

Patch and texture match

The drywall gets cut back to sound material, patched, and the surrounding texture matched — orange peel, knockdown or smooth, whichever the wall already has. Standard texture matching is included in every repair; detailed hand textures and premium finishes carry an add-on, explained on texture matching.

Once the patch and texture are done, the wall is ready for a roller. If you'd rather we painted it, a full wall repaint, corner to corner, is a separate return visit once the texture has dried — see drywall repair and painting for how that works and what it costs.

Getting a firm price

Text 2-3 photos — one close up, one from a few steps back — along with the year your home was built. That's enough for a firm price back by text; quotes from photos are free. If a photo doesn't tell the whole story, an in-person look is $150, credited to the repair if you book it.

Homes built before 1980 are likely to contain asbestos, and we don't work on homes built with asbestos materials — that's part of why the year built matters as much as the photos. Send both through the quote page.

What happens on repair day

You don't need to be home. A lockbox code or an unlocked door works, and you'll get a text when we're on the way. Floors, nearby walls and anything close to the work get covered with tape and plastic before we start; a couch in the way is moved and covered, too, as part of the job.

The plastic catches most of the dust, and the work area gets cleaned up before we lock up and go. Most repairs finish in one visit; see the full price list for every size and add-on.

What to expect on repair day

Mario, the owner, does the work, and your home is protected while it happens.

You don't need to be home

Leave a lockbox code or the door unlocked. You get a text when Mario is on the way, and Mario locks up when the job is done.

Your belongings protected

Before starting, we tape plastic over the floor, nearby walls and anything close to the repair. If a couch is in the way, we move it and cover it.

Cleaned up before we leave

Patching makes some dust. The plastic catches most of it, and we clean up the work area before we go.

Drywall hole repair questions

How big a hole can you repair?

Anything smaller than one sheet of drywall, 4 ft by 4 ft. Small dings up to 6 inches, medium damage up to 2 ft by 2 ft, and large impact holes up to 4 ft by 4 ft all get a published price — see the price list.

How closely will the patch match the rest of the wall?

We cut the patch back to sound drywall and match your existing texture carefully. How it reads up close depends on lighting and the wall's own condition.

Do you repair more than one hole on the same visit?

Yes. A second patch in the same room on the same visit is priced as an add-on, not a full second repair — see the price list for the add-on amount.

Do I need to be home for the repair?

No. A lockbox code or an unlocked door works. You'll get a text when we're on the way, and we lock up on the way out.

Hole in your wall? Text a photo.

Text, call or send the form anytime, day or night. You'll get a price back from Mario, the owner, who also does the repair.
